Frank Macgill has been nominated to replace Brooks Stillwell on the Savannah Economic Development Authority’s board of directors.

Macgill, managing partner at Hunter Maclean law firm, will assume the seat, pending approval by the board, at SEDA’s Jan. 8 meeting. Stillwell resigned from the board after being city attorney by Savannah City Council in September.

Stillwell previously worked for Hunter Maclean.

“It would be a tremendous honor for me” to join the SEDA board, Macgill told directors during a meeting Thursday.

Macgill is a SEDA appointee, nominated by the board’s nominating committee. One city appointee and two county appointees were also revealed during the meeting. Willie Seymour, president of the International Longshoreman’s Association Local 1414, was nominated by the city while the county appointed Kevin Jackson, CEO of EnviroVac, to remain on the board and Chad Barrow of Coastal Logistic Group to join the group Barrow currently serves on SEDA’s advisory board and is involved with the World Trade Center Savannah.

The board will vote on those three appointees at the Jan. 8 meeting as well.

In other board news, CEO Trip Tollison notified directors he is formulating a business plan for 2013 to supplement the organization’s five-year strategic plan. The plan will include measureables and goals for the calendar year.
