Savannah-Chatham police are in intersections directing traffic on Abercorn Street/Ga. 204 in the King George area after winds knocked down several traffic lights.
Police are advising motorists to take alternate routes, if possible, and take precautions for the officers in the roadways.
The repairs could take several hours, police said.
Also, the traffic lights are out at Abercorn at Stephenson Avenue and Hodgson Memorial at Stephenson. Both intersections are four-way stops until power is restored.
Meanwhile, a large tree was reportedly blown down near Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church. Another tree was reportedly blown down at a playground at Wilmington Island United Methodist Church. The storm was reported in the area at around 4:10 p.m. Monday.
To the east, LaRoche is blocked between DeRenne and Nottingham. Drivers should take another route around the area. Power outages reported on LaRoche Avenue near Neva Street.
