Annette and her husband, Bob, have two small boys, including one with serious health problems. This places an extra hardship on Bob, as his wife has chronic health issues, too.
But this loving couple doesn’t let these troubles get them down. They are strong in their faith and in their love for one another.
Unfortunately, Bob got laid off from his job almost a year ago and, since then, has been looking for work unsuccessfully.
The family had been living off their small savings and a disability check Annette receives. But the money they had socked away is gone. Right now, they’re barely able to keep a roof over their heads and put food on the table.
They’d like their two children to enjoy the holidays, but there’s no money for gifts.
The Savannah Morning News created the Empty Stocking Fund in 1971 to help lift spirits and spread cheer to Savannah-area children who are suffering through family hardships during this time of year.
Contributions will be acknowledged in the manner requested by donors.
