A house fire on Savannah’s west side forced a family from its home on Christmas Day.
American Red Cross Disaster Action Team members responded to the fire at 4305 Liberty Parkway Tuesday morning where a mother and her four children live, said Robin Wingate, Southeast Georgia Red Cross director.
Although damage from the fire — which investigators believe started in the attic — was minimal, much of the house and its contents received water damage, Wingate said.
The family was provided funds for food, temporary shelter and clothing. She added that they had insurance, which should help replace much of the items lost.
