Wearing everything from swim trunks to superhero costumes, New Year's revelers charged into the chilly Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday during the 2013 Tybee Island Polar Plunge.
The annual event serves as a fundraiser for the Tybee Post Theater.

Before the plunge took place, the most elaborately costumed attendees paraded along the Tybee Island Pier and Pavilion in what organizers dubbed the "Gang of Goofs" parade.
