This elegant night is dedicated to raising money for the Survivor Glam Squad’s cancer patient makeovers and to send one lucky cancer survivor on a trip aboard the Fashion Fundraiser Cruise benefiting the American Cancer Society. The Explorers are raising money for an upcoming Winterfest competition in Gatlinburg, Tenn. Prepared Childbirth Saturday Session
9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 12. Memorial University Medical Center. This full-day course gives an overview of reproductive anatomy and physiology and explains the process of labor and delivery in simple, easy-to-understand terms. It is designed for parents who live outside of Savannah or have schedules that make it difficult to attend weekday classes. This course includes a tour of the labor and delivery unit. Foote Lecture Series
Jan. 12 and Jan. 13. First Presbyterian Church, 520 Washington Ave. First Presbyterian Church will host the annual Foote Lecture Series on Saturday, Jan. 12 and Sunday, Jan. 13. The endowed series will feature the Rev. Joan Gray, 217th moderator of the General Assembly and a minister in Atlanta. Her topic is “Claiming God’s Power for the Challenges of our Day.” The first talk will be on Saturday at 7 p.m. On Sunday she will preach at the 11 a.m. service of worship and present the concluding talk at 5 p.m. followed by a reception at 6 p.m. All are welcome.
