If you're looking for a way to beat the sudden cold in Savannah tonight, there's no shortage of options.
Topping the list is the kickoff of the Mountainfilm on Tour festival at Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton St. At 7 p.m., the theater will host a half-dozen documentaries and shorts on extreme adventuring, activism and the environment, led off by fearless kayaker Erik Boomer in "The Nomad."

Tickets are $10 at the door, $8 for students. Also screening: documentary "The Right to Play," in which former Olympians take the joy of sports to children in underserved nations. That includes Olympic gold medalist speedskater Joey Cheek, who'll be on hand for a Q&A following the screenings.

All five hours -- or what seems like it -- of classic film"Lawrence of Arabia" start at 7 p.m. at the Lucas Theatre, 32 Abercorn St. $8 general admission; $5 for students and seniors. 912-525-5050
Willy Wonka and friends are at the Savannah Children's Theatre for an 8 p.m. performance. It's a main stage musical production with adult and youth performers, complete with a live show orchestra. Tickets are $15 and up. 216o E. Victory Drive, 912-238-9015
From 7:30 till who-knows-when, it's local reading/music series Seersucker Live with the Georgia Review upstairs at The Sparetime, on the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Congress Street. The literary extravaganza officially concludes at 9 p.m., but the cocktails likely will keep pouring late into the evening. $10, $5 for students. seersuckerlive.com
The Savannah Theatre is putting on a special Civil War spectactular at 8 p.m., 222 Bull St. It's $35 for adults, $15 for kids, which may be worth it just to see the award-winning costumes designed by Janell Berte. 912-233-7764. Check 'em out.
From 2 to 7 p.m., the Savannah Low Country Home & Garden Show is back for its first day of 2013 at the International Trade & Convention Center across the river. From 6 to 9 p.m. tonight, The Sketchbook Show opens at Ashmore Gallery, 412 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., with the work of more than 100 of the world's best underground artists. Word on the street is they'll offer free pizza and beer. Read about it here.
