Otis Johnson to deliver lecture at Savannah State

1-2 p.m. June 11. Gallery of the Asa H. Gordon Library, Savannah State University Campus. Johnson will discuss the federally mandated University System of Georgia desegregation plan that resulted in the transfer of Savannah State’s teacher education program to then Armstrong State College in 1979. SSU received Armstrong’s business administration program in exchange, but the decision sparked student and community protests. The lecture is free and open to the public. For more information, call Mary Jo Fayoyin, director of Library Services, at 912-358-4329 or emailfayoyinm@savannahstate.edu.

Sand Gnats game to benefit Goodwill

When you buy tickets for the June 13 Savannah Sand Gnats game from local Goodwill retail locations, Goodwill gets funds to help local programs that serve our area.
