ATLANTA — U.S. Attorney's officials say two former TSA officers have been sentenced in a drug smuggling sting at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

Authorities say the former officer Richard Cook met with two undercover officers twice in January 2012 and agreed to smuggle what he thought was heroin through the airport to another undercover agent inside the terminal for a payment of $7,500.

Officials say Cook resigned from the TSA in February 2012, but introduced Gregory to undercover officers to help in the smuggling operation and was paid a $1,000 referral fee. Authorities say the undercover agents paid Gregory to smuggle fake drugs twice in February and May of 2012.

Cook is sentenced to 11 years in prison and Gregory is sentenced to 6 years in prison.
