A Rincon man who was arrested yesterday made an initial appearance in federal court in Savannah today on a charge of receipt of child pornography.
Peter Jarvis Jr. was advised of the charge against him and Magistrate Judge G.R. Smith found probable cause.
A search warrant was served at Jarvis’ house on Madison Oaks Drive yesterday by federal agents, aided by deputies from the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office.
Jarvis was arrested and computers from the house were confiscated.
The case was brought by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the principal investigative arm of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
