Six people were displaced Friday afternoon after a small apartment fire.
The American Red Cross responded to the blaze at 3301 Fenwick Village Dr. about 2 p.m., said Harry Walker, Savannah Red Cross spokesman.
Three apartments at that location received fire and water damage to the point that residents cannot stay in them until they are cleaned and repaired, Walker said.
Four of the victims told Red Cross volunteers they had a place to go; the other two were provided comfort kits containing personal hygiene supplies, temporary housing, and food.
Walker said their situation would be evaluated again within a few days to make sure they have shelter.
