ATLANTA — Soaking rains are falling in central and south Georgia and forecasters say there's a risk of flooding from the downpours.

The National Weather Service issued a flood watch Saturday for much of middle Georgia, were up to 2 inches of rain has fallen since Thursday. An additional 1 to 2.5 inches of rainfall was possible Saturday. Forecasters say minor flooding is likely along the Flint, Ocmulgee and Oconee Rivers.

A flash flood watch is in effect in southwest Georgia, where 3 to 8 inches of rain have fallen since Friday. An additional 1.5 to 3 inches was possible Saturday.

Parts of the Ogeechee River near Savannah remain under a flood warning. The river was more than 2 feet above flood stage Saturday morning, enough to cause minor flooding.
