A variant cover for a newly launched version of DC Comics' Justice League of America franchise featuring Georgia has been released. Check your local comic book retailer to see if they have it in stock.
"DC Comics has just launched a new story arc for their JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA series. To make things exciting for JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #1 which came out last week, they have created special variant covers for all 50 states as well as Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. On the cover, Vibe, Catwoman, Green Arrow and Simon Baz are posted like the soldiers in the iconic "Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima" photo. However, instead of flying an America flag, the cover shows them hoisting Georgia's flag. With that said, we thought showing the Georgia cover could make a fun online pop culture item and a cool way to show some superhero state pride!"
And here's more on the book itself:
The Justice League, a team made up of the World’s Greatest Super Heroes, has successfully handled threats too massive for any single hero for years. But now, the U.S. military has decided to form its own league under the watchful eye of Colonel Steve Trevor.
This winter, the world’s most dangerous heroes will unite as the Justice League of America to take on a mission so menacing that not even the Justice League can handle it alone.
DC Comics is proud to present JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA, a new ongoing comic book series, where the superstar creative team of writer Geoff Johns and artist David Finch will bring unlikely heroes such as Green Arrow, Katana, Martian Manhunter, Simon Baz, Stargirl, Vibe, Hawkman and Catwoman out of the shadows and into the spotlight.
“They’re underdogs who have everything to prove and something to lose,” says Johns. The march toward
TRINITY WAR begins with part one of “World’s Most Dangerous” in JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #1, where the team will begin to form and secret motives will be revealed.
