A Pennsylvania man wanted on multiple charges by Philadelphia police was arrested Wednesday by the U.S. Marshals Service, Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department in Jesup.
Bernard Ducksworth, 43, is wanted by the police on numerous sex offenses, including a statutory sexual assault on warrants dated July 30, 2012, authorities said.
The case was referred to the U.S. Marshals Service in Philadelphia for assistance in locating and arresting Ducksworth.
The Philadelphia marshals task force generated leads that placed Ducksworth in the Jesup, officials said. They said additional information was generated that placed Ducksworth as working for an engineering company contracted at ITT Rayonier.
That information was passed to the Savannah office of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force for assistance in arresting Ducksworth, said officials. Savannah Task Force members, along with the Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies and with the assistance of the Engineering Company and ITT Rayonier, arrested Ducksworth without incident.
Ducksworth was taken to the Wayne County jail to await extradition proceedings to send him back to Philadelphia.
