The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Savannah-Chatham police are investigating after a bank robbery Wednesday afternoon.
A gunman entered the Wells Fargo Bank n the 3500 block of Ogeechee Road just before 4 p.m., pointed a silver automatic handgun at bank employees, and demanded money, said Julian Miller, police spokesman. The suspect escaped with cash in a white, plastic bag with a red drawstring that he'd brought in with him and fled in a gold Toyota Camry.
Police found the vehicle abounded behind a house in Liberty City where the gunman was seen entering a white sedan with another black male.
Miller described the gunman as a slender black male between 6' 2" and 6' 3" in his mid- to late-20s. He had long twists in his hair and a medium complexion. He was wearing a fitted, gray Atlanta Braves baseball camp with dark pants and shoes at the time of the robbery and hid his face with a white bandana or T-shirt.
