SAVANNAH, Ga. — Savannah officials say the city is more popular than ever as a location for film projects ranging from TV ads to feature films.

The city government's Film Office said Thursday it worked with 242 film projects in 2012 that brought more than $12 million in direct spending to Savannah.

The busy year included shooting feature films such as the punk rock themed "CBGB" and "Killing Winston Jones" starring Danny Glover and Richard Dreyfus. Both are scheduled for release later this year.

Other projects included the television show "Adam Richman's Best Sandwich in America"— in which a Savannah eatery took third place — and national advertising campaigns for the Express and Louis Vuitton.
