Meteorologists say a storm system moving through the area Saturday is capable of producing hail the size of golf balls and damaging winds traveling at speeds of more than 60 mph. Forecasters say the storms were spotted in the Jesup area Saturday afternoon and were moving east at 40 mph. Meteorologists say a severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect until 5 p.m.
In northern Georgia, forecasters issued a flood warning for the Big Creek River in Cumming. Meteorologists say recent heavy rainfall cause significant runoff into nearby streams, which could cause flooding in some areas.
