About 300 kids hunted down 2,000 eggs around Daffin Park this afternoon during an Easter Egg Hunt held by Savannah’s Parks and Recreation Services Department.
City employees dyed the eggs in preparation for the event, and every single egg was found by the children, said Sarahjane Aures, with the city.
The Supervised Playground Program is coordinated by Edith Crawford, a 37-year veteran employee of the city. The program provides adult supervision for children ages 6 to 14 at 16 playground locations throughout Savannah, Aures said. Children take part in sports, games, arts and crafts, and other seasonal activities including recreational swimming at city pools during the summer months.
