A Bloomingdale man has been arrested following the discovery of a methamphetamine lab at his home on Withlacoochee Avenue in southern Effingham County.
Drug investigators arrested Benjamin Groover, 42, and charged him with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects, and unlawful possession of pseudoephedrine, Effingham County Sheriff’s Office spokesman David Ehsanipoor said.
Deputies also found several bags of methamphetamine.
The arrest was the result of an ongoing operation conducted by the Effingham County Sheriff's Office Drug Suppression Team.
Additional arrests are expected.
Groover has an extensive criminal history and has served time in prison for manufacturing methamphetamine, Ehsanipoor said. He is being held in the Effingham County Jail.
