FORT VALLEY, Ga. — A police officer in middle Georgia has claimed a $1 million prize playing the lottery.

The Telegraph of Macon reports (http://bit.ly/12rYYk6 ) 25-year-old Tinichia Story says she "couldn't believe it" when the scratch-off ticket she purchased at a Fort Valley convenience store turned out to be a seven-figure winner. Story works as a police officer for the city of Marshallville.

The Georgia Lottery says Story collected her winnings Tuesday. The young officer said, "It doesn't feel real."

Story says she plans to spend her prize money on her nieces and nephews as well as buy a new tote bag for her Yorkshire terrier puppy.
