Dinner to benefit the Savannah Children’s Choir
6 p.m. April 8. Sage Restaurant, 41 Whitaker St. Sage Restaurant will host a multi-course dinner with wine pairings April 8 to benefit the Savannah Children’s Choir. During dinner, guests will get a taste of the Premier Choir’s latest musical offerings. Tickets benefit the SCC’s travel fund, as the choirs prepare for a tour to Nashville, Tenn., in May. Back pain support group

Summer art workshop series
The Studio School announces its summer art workshop series. Youth Oil Painting Intensive from June 10-14 is a one-week, day-long camp for the serious middle or high school student. Drawing the Figure from June 17-21 are half-day sessions working with a live model. Beginners welcome; ages 15 and older. Portrait Drawing and Painting from June 24-28 are half-day sessions working with a live model. Beginners of all ages welcome. Cost is $175 per workshop and includes all materials and model fees. “Sojourn in an Irish County: Images from County Mayo”

Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, Tim Coy shares images from his 2010 visit to the towns, villages, countryside and rugged coastline of County Mayo, Ireland with two superb photographers, Ron Rosenstock and the renowned Paul Caponigro. April. Gallery 209, 209 East River St. Gallery 209 will feature the work of artists Kim Miller & Steve Cook for the month of April. Kim’s paintings are a celebration of the beauty of the south. Her mixed media paintings begin as ink drawings, Layers of acrylic paint are then added to develop rich color and texture. She has painted and taught classes for over 30 years. Wood worker Steve Cook specializes in kitchen fabrication , mill work as well as furniture. He displays his wood work in 209. His beautiful pieces are food safe and functional.
