A Savannah man today was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison with possible parole in the 2011 slaying of Alan Dwayne O’Neal in Tatemville.
Levi Jerome Marshall Jr., 24, also was sentenced to five years consecutive for giving police false statements.
Chatham County Superior Court Judge Timothy R. Walmsley directed a verdict of not guilty for Levi on a felony murder charge contending the slaying occurred during an armed robbery.
Savannah-Chatham police found O’Neal, 20, in the front yard of a home at 715 Dixon Street on Sept. 21, 2011,. He had been shot and died at Memorial University Medical Center..
