A Chatham County jail inmate has been indicted on terroristic threats and obstruction charges in a February incident that erupted when guards denied him another spoon.
Raheem Dasheen Jackson, 22, threatened to commit murder against two corrections officers in the jail on Feb. 16, the Chatham County grand jury charged in a three-count indictment returned on Wednesday.
In addition to threats made against Cpl. Larry Morris and Pvt. Justin Garrison, Jackson elbowed Morris in the chest during the discharge of his duties, the grand jury determined on evidence presented by Assistant District Attorney Sneh Patel.
Michelle Gavin, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s department, said Jackson wanted another spoon and when offices refused his request, cursed the officers, elbowed one of them in the chest and threatened to harm them.
Jackson was in jail on theft and forgery charges as well as a probation violation when the attacks occurred, jail records show.
