Auditions for ‘Falsettos’
7 p.m. April 14. First Presbyterian Church, 520 Washington Ave. Bangers and Mash Theatre Works auditions for William Finn’s Falsettos will be April 14. Needed are three males in their 20s-50s, one male age 10-14 and three women in their 20s-50s. All must be strong singers and be comfortable performing adult-themed material. Please bring sheet music, 16 bars. Directed by DJ Queenan with musical direction by Warren Heilman. Show dates are June 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 at Muse Arts Warehouse. Keep Tybee Tidy
7 a.m. April 14. Walter W. Parker Pier & Pavilion, downtown Tybee. Savannah State University students will continue their “Tigers Keep Tybee Tidy” efforts, in partnership with Tybee Beautification Association and the City of Tybee Island, from 7 a.m.-noon April 14. At 5 p.m., TBA will conduct an afternoon beach sweep. Volunteers should meet at the Walter W. Parker Pier & Pavilion in downtown Tybee to obtain supplies and instructions. At 10 a.m. April 20, Tybee Beautification will host its annual Spring Beach Sweep beginning at the Pier & Pavilion. All are welcome to participate. Students are encouraged to bring their community service forms.

Taxed Enough rally
2-4 p.m. April 14. Lake Mayer. The Savannah Tea Party invites you to come to Lake Mayer on April 14 and let your voice be heard. Join with other Americans who are against the government taking more and more of our money to give to others and to waste on government giveaways. You will have an opportunity to ask questions of our guest speakers: Congressman Jack Kingston; Congressman Paul Broun; Michael McNeely, chairman of the Georgia Black Republican Council; and Melvin Everson, director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development. Sunday Supper and Serenade
6 p.m. April 14. Savannah Commons, 1 Peachtree Drive, off Middleground Road. SCC will present Sunday Supper & Serenade at Savannah Commons on April 14. These concerts highlight local assisted living facilities, a relationship made possible with the support of Hospice Savannah. Tickets benefit the SCC’s travel fund, as the choirs prepare for a tour to Nashville, Tenn., in May. To purchase tickets, go to www.savannahchoir.org.

Openings at First Presbyterian Day School
First Presbyterian Day School is enrolling preschool children ages 2, 3 and 4 for the 2013-14 school year that begins Aug. 19. Children must be 2 years old on or before Sept. 1. The school is a Reggio-inspired full-day, year-round program serving working parents and is an NAEYC-accredited preschool program at 540 William Hilton Parkway. 2013 Gulfstream Spring Lecture Series
4 p.m. April 14. Flannery O’Connor Childhood Home, 207 E. Charlton St. Savannah State University Professor of English B.J. Love will discuss the collaborative writing process in literature, referencing his own new co-written poetry book, “Yes, I’m Sure This Was a Beautiful Place.”

Pastoral anniversary
4 p.m. April 14. Jerusalem Baptist Church, 635 West 41st St. Pastor Stanley Royal, Sr. of New Beginnings Baptist Church will celebrate his second anniversary April 14. The preaching will be done by Rev. Matthew Brown of First Union Missionary Baptist Church. The public is invited to attend. Services will be held at Jerusalem Baptist Church.

Gilbert Middle School Honor Choir concert
11 a.m. April 14. First Presbyterian Church, 520 Washington Ave. First Presbyterian Church will host the 35-voice Gilbert Middle School Honor Choir on Sunday, April 14 at the 11 a.m. service of worship. This outstanding choir from Gilbert, South Carolina has sung at music festivals in Chicago, New York and throughout the Southeast. They will sing a setting of a psalm, a spiritual and a Shaker canon. All are welcome.

Tybee Arts Association show and sale
April 12-14. #7 Cedarwood Dr., Tybee Island. “Spring Fling” is the theme for the next Tybee Arts Association show and sale, April 12-14. Sixteen artists are participating in this show including, Robin Sterns, owner of Ardsley Art Glass, Benjamin Turner’s incredible, lifelike paintings; Tommy Thompson’s photography and notecards and Clare Worley’s stained glass. Show times are as follows: Friday, April 12, from 6-9 p.m., Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday, April 14, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.


Art Inspired by Music Exhibit
Through April 16. Lulu’s Chocolate Bar. Art inspired by music, compositions by Carmela Aliffi, will open at LuLu’s Chocolate Bar on March 21. The opening coincides with the beginning of the Savannah Music Festival.

Ray Ellis Spring Exhibition
Through April 20. Ray Ellis Gallery, 205 West Congress St. It’s been a year since Ray Ellis has been to Savannah. And after painting all winter, the spring exhibition, “New Southern Paintings” will run from March 22 through April 20 at the gallery. This new collection of watercolors and oils includes many of his favorite subjects: sailing on the coast, boating on marsh creeks, floral still lifes, courtyard scenes and much more.
