Auditions for ‘Falsettos’
7 p.m. April 15. First Presbyterian Church, 520 Washington Ave. Bangers and Mash Theatre Works auditions for William Finn’s Falsettos will be April 14. Needed are three males in their 20s-50s, one male age 10-14 and three women in their 20s-50s. All must be strong singers and be comfortable performing adult-themed material. Please bring sheet music, 16 bars. Directed by DJ Queenan with musical direction by Warren Heilman. Show dates are June 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 at Muse Arts Warehouse. Veterans And Military Retirees Forum
11 a.m.-2 p.m. April 15. Armstrong Center, 11935 Abercorn St. Congressman Jack Kingston (R-GA) announced today that he will host a forum to educate veterans about some of the programs and assistance available. Veterans interested in for or learning more about programs offered through the Veterans Administration and various agencies are encouraged to attend. Literacy Celebration
10 a.m. April 15-19. Wesley’s Early Childhood Center, 1601 Drayton St. Wesley Community Center will host a Literacy Celebration from April 15-19. There will be a parade at Forsyth Park on April 15. A Book, Brownies and Berries Day will be April 18, with several guest readers, including District Attorney Meg Heap. All events start at 10 a.m. For more information, go to www.wesleyctrs-savh.org.

The Week of the Young Child
April 15-19. Head Start, various locations. The Week of the Young Child begins April 15 at Head Start, with book readings, workshops, games and more. One of the highlights is the Health Fair from 9 a.m-noon April 16 at 1120 May St. The week ends with our Big Festival Event from 9:30 a.m.-noon April 19 at 618 W. Anderson St. All of the events are open to parents and the public. Week of the Young Child is an opportunity for early childhood education programs across the country to host activities to bring awareness to the needs of young children.

Savannah Young Lawyers host a week of festivities at the World of Beer
April 15-20. World of Beer, Broughton Street. The Savannah Young Lawyers “Boar Association” is organizing a week of festivities at the World of Beer on Broughton Street. Events will include a Beer School, Charity Raffle Week and a Live Charity Auction & Cask Night. Join the Boars from April 15-20 as they trade litigation for libation to raise awareness and funds for Kiss-A-Pig 2013. You can attend Beer School on April 15 for a taste of craft beer culture. The event starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $15. World of Beer will also be featuring live music by Call The Cops from 8-11 p.m. April 16. The Live Charity Auction & Cask Night begins at 7 p.m. April 19. Proceeds from all events will benefit the 2013 Kiss-A-Pig campaign of the Savannah Boar Association.

SCAD Style, conversation
11:30 a.m. April 15. SCAD Museum of Art, 601 Turner Blvd. Savannah College of Art and Design will host SCAD Style 2013 from April 15-19. “From Gucci to Tiffany and Everywhere in Between: A Visual Journey” with Richard Lambertson, director of design, Tiffany & Co., will be April 15 at the SCAD Museum of Art. SCAD Style, film screening
2 p.m. April 15. SCAD Museum of Art, 601 Turner Blvd. Savannah College of Art and Design will host SCAD Style 2013 from April 15-19. There will be a screening of “Versailles ’73: American Runway Revolution,” on April 15 at the SCAD Museum of Art. The documentary chronicles the legendary 1973 fashion show battle between American and French designers that put American fashion on the international map. 4:30 p.m. April 15. SCAD Museum of Art, 601 Turner Blvd. Savannah College of Art and Design will host SCAD Style 2013 from April 15-19. There will be a book signing with Cameron Silver on April 15. Silver will sign his book, “Decades: A Century in Fashion,” a coffee-table tome that takes on 20th-century fashion with never-before-seen photos documenting each decade complemented by Silver’s first-person essays. SCAD Style, lecture
6 p.m. April 15. SCAD Museum of Art, 601 Turner Blvd. Savannah College of Art and Design will host SCAD Style 2013 from April 15-19. “Industrial Design and the Future” with Luigi Colani, industrial designer and artist, will offer a lecture April 15. Colani, “the unabashed agent provocateur of the design world,” is a legendary industrial designer whose client list is a who’s-who of some of the best design in the last half-century, including Alpha Romeo, VW, BMS, Boeing, Sony and Canon. Sisters Network

Sisters Network is a national organization committed to raising awareness about the devastating impact that breast cancer has in the African American community. Savannah Fibers Guild Group
April 15-May 31. Blick Art Gallery, 318 E. Broughton St. The Savannah Fibers Guild is open to all who are interested in the fiber arts: weaving, spinning, basket making, knitting, crocheting, quilting, beading, rug hooking and doll making.
