HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- Savannah's Brian Harman made the cut when the second round of the RBC Heritage was completed Saturday morning at Harbour Town Golf Links.
The prognosis wasn't so sunny when rain suspended play at 6:15 p.m. Friday and Harman sat at 2 over par. The projected cut was 1 over.
However, the cut moved to 2 over and 91 players made it through, tying the PGA Tour record since 1970 (1981 Travelers Championship).
Harman (71-73) teed off at 11:40 a.m. Saturday from No. 10 with Matt Every of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and two-time Heritage champion Boo Weekley of East Milton, Fla.
Swainsboro native Will Claxton was a sure bet after carding rounds of 68-73 for 1 under. He was grouped with Henrik Norlander of Stockholm, Sweden and Robert Garrigus of Scottsdale, Ariz., at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from No. 1 tee.
Among those missing the cut were John Daly, Ernie Els, Lucas Glover, Harris English, Vijay Singh and Colt Knost, who nearly won the tournament in 2012.
There's still another cut to come, as the field will be pared to the low 70 golfers and ties after the third round.
