Car wash fundraiser for Autism Speaks
11 a.m.-4 p.m. April 27. Taco Bell at Savannah Mall. The Joe’s Crab Shack team will be having a car wash to raise money for Autism Speaks April 27. The first 50 vehicles will receive coupons for a Classic Steam Pot. $10 for cars and $20 for trucks, vans and SUVs.
Honor Student Recital
7 p.m. April 27. AASU Auditorium. The Savannah Music Teachers Association presents annual Honor Student Recital to benefit the Armstrong Atlantic State University Piano Scholarship Fund. Students performing are among the most talented students from local SMTA teachers. Recital held at AASU Auditorium, 7 p.m. No charge to attend, but donations requested.
Mother-Son Dance and Humane Society Fundraiser

Prescription Drug Take-Back Day
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 27. Chatham County Sheriff’s Office will once again team up with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Chatham-Savannah Narcotics Team to help get unwanted and expired prescription drugs out of the homes of our citizens. Annual Tybee Turtle Trot
6:30 a.m. April 27. Kick off Georgia’s sea turtle nesting season by participating in the ninth annual Turtle Trot 5K beach run. This event is a fundraiser for the Tybee Island Sea Turtle Project. Assemblage workshop with artist Bob Rizzo

Sidewalk Arts Festival

‘Pack the Park for Habitat’
4 p.m. April 27. Grayson Stadium. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans invites Savannah families and Sand Gnats fans to “Pack the Park for Habitat” on April 27 at Grayson Stadium. The event continues the organization’s effort to support Habitat for Humanity Savannah’s goal of creating safe and affordable housing in partnership with the community’s low-income families. Prior to the baseball game, Thrivent will host a barbecue dinner, with proceeds going directly to support Habitat’s homeownership program.
2013 Play It Forward Concert

Stand Up For America Day
April 27. The city of Port Wentworth will host Stand Up For America Day on April 27. Every year on the last Saturday in April, the streets of Port Wentworth are filled with a parade, music, arts, crafts, food and kiddie rides.
