A 38-year-old man died Saturday after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing on a west Chatham County road.
George Thomas, of Midway, was pronounced dead at Memorial University Medical Center following the about 2 p.m. wreck on Chief O.F. Love Road, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
The department’s Major Accident Investigation Team determined Thomas as driving his Harley Davidson south on Chief O.F. Love Road When he reached the end of the road and applied his rear break he was thrown from the motorcycle, Miller said.
MAIT also investigated another crash Saturday afternoon in which two vehicles hit head-on in the 700 block of Quacco Road.
Miller said two people were transported to Memorial in that wreck with injuries considered non-life threatening.
One of the drivers, Miller said, appeared to have a medical condition while traveling westbound on Quacco and crossed the center line.
Miller said MAIT officers were continuing to investigate both crashes Saturday night.
