A shooting on Savannah’s eastside Sunday afternoon sent one man to the hospital.
Two men were arguing on a basketball court in the Fred Wessels Homes area near Wilder Drive and Avery Street at about 3:30 p.m. when they got into an argument, said police at the scene. One man was leaving the court when the other man chased and shot him, police said.
The victim, whose identity or age were not immediately released, was taken to Memorial University Medical Center with injuries believed to be not life-threatening, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
Police at the scene said no suspect was in custody early Sunday afternoon.
Violent crimes detectives and forensics units were called to the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
