Among the schools participating were Hesse K-8, Gould Elementary, Windsor Forest Elementary, St. Frances Cabrini Catholic School, Isle of Hope K-8, Pulaski Elementary, Butler Elementary and Largo-Tibet Elementary. Jamie McGrath from the Gifted Services at Gould Elementary said: “ChessFest is a high-energy, zero-stress, exciting way for chess teams to cap off a year of study and for students to see themselves as a part of a much larger world of intellectually curious young people. The ChessFest spirit is not one of competition, but of celebration.”
