Lovett and Benedictine split a doubleheader in their best of three Class AA Final Four baseball series to set up the decisive third game on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at BC.
Lovett won the first game 7-1 behind home runs from Nick Boden and Sean Reagan and the 5-hit, 10-strikeout pitching of Mitch Stallings.
In the second game, Chipper Wiley's run-scoring single in the sixth inning gave BC a 3-2 win. Stevie Powers raised his record to 11-0 by pitching out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the seventh.
