Tybee Arts Association Show and Sale
May 24-26. The Tybee Arts Association building, No. 7 Cedarwood, Tybee Island. “Beach Party” is the theme for the next Tybee Arts Association show and sale, with 16-18 artists displaying their work. The show opens with an artists’ reception from 6-9 p.m. May 24 and continues from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 25 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 26. Twenty percent of sales go to support the Tybee Arts Association, a non-profit organization promoting the arts in the Tybee community and the surrounding areas. Veterans to give away poppies
9 a.m.-3 p.m. May 24-25. Wal-Mart, 4724 East HWY 80. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4392 will be giving away “Buddy Poppies” May 24-25 at Wal-Mart on HWY 80. The poppy is a symbol of the sacrifice made by our nation’s war dead.

Tybee Marine Rescue Squad barbecue sale
May 24-25. Tybee Marine Rescue Squad Headquarters, 1 Old U.S. Hwy. 80 at Lazaretto Creek. Tybee Marine Rescue Squadron is selling barbecued Boston butts from noon-8 p.m. May 24 and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 25 or until sold out. Cost is $25 for whole or chipped butts. All proceeds go to support the Tybee Marine Rescue Squadron. The MRS is an all-volunteer organization serving the Tybee area since 1959.

Nonstop Glow Run
9:30 p.m. May 24. Lake Mayer. This 5K race will be the first of its kind here in Savannah. We will start the race at 9:30 p.m. Friday night and it will be a glow-in-the-dark race! Tea in the Garden at the Davenport House
5 p.m. May 24, 30, 31. Davenport House Museum, 324 E. State St. Learn about tea traditions and experience an early 19th-century tea in Davenport House’s beautiful courtyard garden. Patrons will visit areas of the home where tea service took place and will participate in an afternoon tea given with costumed interpreters in the garden. The performance requires that guests be able to walk up and down stairs. The cost is $18 and reservations are recommended as space is limited. For more information, call 912-236-8097.
