The Savannah-Chatham school system just released this:
The investigation of the suspicious package at West Chatham Middle has been finalized and the all clear has been given. The school has been thoroughly searched and deemed safe for all students to return. Students will finish the remainder of the school day on the regular operating schedule at West Chatham Middle.
Earlier this morning, the system released this:
All students of West Chatham Middle School have been evacuated as a result of a suspicious package found at the school. This measure was taken as a precaution while Campus Police and other agencies (Savannah-Chatham police Bomb Squad) investigate the situation. Students have been safely relocated to West Chatham Elementary School and will remain there until the all clear is given. All students are safe and accounted for. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
