A $75,000 bond today was set for a Texas man charged in the June 4 traffic death of jazz icon Ben Tucker.
Attorneys for Robert William Martin, 52, waved preliminary hearing in the case before Chatham County Recorder's Court Chief Judge Tammy Stokes. That means charges of vehicular homicide, reckless driving and speeding will go to the Chatham County grand jury for indictment at a later date.
Tucker, 82, was killed when a golf cart in which he was riding was struck by a speeding car driven by Martin on Hutchinson Island.
