Sponsor a cheerleader to fight breast cancer
Oct. 19. The Bible Baptist School’s Varsity Cheerleading Squad will host its first annual “Cheer for a Cure” at the Oct. 19 home football game. The event honors the women who bravely fight breast cancer. Proceeds will benefit Courage through Cancer Ministries out of Tallahassee, Fla. For a minimum of $150, you can sponsor a cheerleader for the event. Your business or family name will be on the back of each cheerleader’s T-shirt during the game. Halloween Haunted Forest
8 p.m.-12 a.m. Oct. 19, 26, 31. Savannah Moose Lodge #1550, 2202 Norwood Ave. Savannah Moose Lodge #1550 dares you to enter their Annual Halloween Haunted Forest. Ticket sales stop at 10 p.m. on Halloween. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Proceeds benefit the Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center.
Fall Family Fun Night
6:30 p.m. Oct. 19. West Chatham YMCA. The West Chatham YMCA is hosting a Fall Family Fun Night Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the West Chatham YMCA Youth gym. This event is open to the community, but you must pre-register and bring an item to donate for the Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry located at the Y. Spooky Skate Night

Dreadful Pestilence: Savannah’s Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1820
7:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights in October. Guests of the living history performance experience the story of yellow fever’s dreadful consequences which transformed the bustling seaport of Savannah into a ghost town. The cost is $15 in advance for adults, $10 in advance children (ages 8-17) and $17 for adults and $15 for children at the time of the performance. Not suitable for children under 8 years of age.
