Quarterback Antonio Bostick scored early in the fourth quarter to seal a 42-35 homecoming victory over Edward Waters on Saturday at T.A. Wright Stadium.
Bostick's 13-yard scoring run put SSU up 42-28 in a game that was close all the way. Edward Waters scored with 5 minutes left for the final margin.
The victory ended Savannah State's 13-game losing streak, which had grown to the longest in the country. The Tigers are 1-6.
Savannah State had 472 yards of offense to Edward Waters' 335. Bostick passed for 319 yards and four touchdowns. He ran for 86 yards and two touchdowns.
Simon Heyward led the Tigers in receiving with 160 yards and scored three touchdowns.
