Immigration Compliance Issues for Businesses seminar
6 p.m. July 25. The Coastal Georgia Center, 305 Fahm St. Human resource professionals need to know when and how their firms should use e-Verify and how to comply with I-9 regulations. Georgia Southern University’s seminar explains the Department of Homeland Security’s current approach to issues of possible illegal immigrants in the workplace. It also covers any new immigration reform legislation being considered by Congress and how it might affect local firms. Frank Callen Boys & Girls Clubs afterschool registration
Afterschool Program Registration for the 2013-2014 school years begins on Monday, July 23. The Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club located at 510 East Charlton St.  and the Kayton-Frazier Boys & Girls Club located at 801 Brewer St. are accepting after school applications for the 2013-2014 Chatham County school year. AASU call for nominations for alumni awards
The Armstrong Notables and Alumni Awards programs have been merged into one seamless program designed to recognize and honor the most outstanding alumni from Armstrong Atlantic State University. “Weekend Navigator” classes
Frank C. Murray Whitemarsh Island Community Center, 160 Whitemarsh Island Road. “Weekend Navigator” classes will be offered by  the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 10-2 through Sept. 9. Learn Navigation from the experts. Classes will meet on Monday & Wednesdays for four weeks starting Sept. 9 from 7-9 p.m. Cost of materials is $50. Classes will be held at the Frank C. “About Face” The Narrative Portrait
July 12 through Aug. 2. DCA Cultural Arts Gallery, 9 West Henry St. The City of Savannah Cultural Arts Gallery presents the collaborative works of Angela Burson, Christine Sajecki, Greg Eltringham, Patrick McKinnon, Adrienne Stein, Anelecia Hannah, Troy Wandzel, Jeff Markowsky, Stephen Cefalo, Jude Harzer and Melinda Borysevicz “About Face” – The Narrative Portrait. This exhibit opens to the public July 12 and runs through Aug. 2.

“Imagine Me” an art show of portraits with a twist

We are very excited to present our students’ unique self-portraits at Blick Art Materials with an artist reception July 26 from 5-7 p.m. Each student created a self-portrait as flowers, lions, Lego people and bugs.
