More rainfall and thunderstorms drenched the Savannah area Wednesday evening, with additional precipitation expected throughout the evening and a flood warning issued for Chatham, Effingham and Bryan Counties.

The storm marks the 37th day since June 1 that the Savannah area has received rainfall, according to data from the National Weather Service. During that same period last year, it rained only 24 days.
Within the last two months alone, Savannah has received a total of 17.5 inches of rainfall. That's close to two-fifths of the average 49.5 inches of rainfall the area receives in an entire year, according to data from the National Weather Service.
