Richmond Hill's 5th annual National Night Out celebration was in full swing just minutes after getting started Thursday night at the city's J.F. Gregory Park.
By 6:15 p.m. the park's pavillion was already crowded with people enjoying live music from Dr. Dan and the Looters, vendor and information booths, raffles, free hot dogs, chips and drinks.
Meanwhile outside children were riding ponies, cascading down water slides, climbing a rock wall and careening off the walls at bouncy houses.
City officials expect to see and are prepared for several thousand people to visit the event before it ends at 9 p.m.
