Savannah-Chatham police made an arrest in one of three July 30 shootings, and are still searching for a suspect in a second that left two teens dead and another injured.
Officers took 19-year-old Daquan Demeterius Williams of Rainbow Drive into custody after Williams and another male were observed behind Pal’s Mini Mart on ACL Boulevard and Louis Mills Drive, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
Williams had been charged with the shooting of a 25-year-old man near East Oglethorpe Avenue and Wilder Street on July 30. The victim suffered injuries that were not considered life threatening.
Detectives are still searching for 21-year-old David Randy Daniels Jr., whom they’ve charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of 18-year-old Dominique Bright and 15-year-old Syheem Spaulding, as well as aggravated assault in the non-fatal shooting of a 15-year-old girl. These shootings took place at East 39th and Cedar streets about 20 minutes after the Oglethorpe shooting.
Police describe Daniels as a black male who is 5 feet 10 inches tall who weighs about 200 pounds. He is known to frequent Savannah’s eastside and police consider him armed and dangerous.
Police ask anyone with information on Daniels’ location to call 911 and not approach him.

Todd Pendergraph, 24, was charged with aggravated assault, fleeing to elude police and theft by receiving stolen property.
John Washington, 23, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Lorenzo Hall, 36, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and sale of a controlled substance.
Brayon Hall, 17, was charged with theft by receiving a stolen firearm and obstruction of police.
Devante Hall, 21, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during commission of a crime.
Dvaugn Frazier, 30, was charged with two counts of sale of a controlled substance. No photo of Frazier was provided by police, and a booking photo was not on the county jail website Monday evening.
The investigation at two Cuyler-Brownville residences resulted in the arrests as well as the recovery of three guns and a large amount of marijuana and cocaine intended for sale. Two of those arrests were made as individuals approached officers on foot at the intersection of Bulloch and West 40th streets.
Additionally, both residences involved were condemned by the city of Savannah due to multiple code violations and deplorable living conditions seen by metro investigators upon entry, said police spokeswoman Eunicia Baker last week.
The operation was part of the “All Hands on Deck” initiative in the Central Precinct, which puts more officers on patrol during the summer months.
Man charged with lying to police after shots fired Sunday
A 21-year-old man was arrested Sunday night and charged with making false statements to police in relation to shots being fired in the Tatemville area.
Ismhal Dangelos Mikell was charged with false statements and writings and reckless conduct after crashing his car at 58th and Bull streets then calling police to 38th and Bull, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
Officers responded about 8:45 p.m. to a shots-fired call at Lamar and Tatum streets, where they were told two cars had driven up and occupants had exchanged gunfire with a man who was walking in the area, Miller said.
No one was injured, but a green Buick and a church near the corner had been struck.
The investigation revealed that all participants of the shootout were family members, Miller said.
Mikell called police to 38th and Bull to report that someone had shot at his green Buick and that he had returned fire, but insisted he did not know who shot at him, Miller said. He was charged for making false statements after being warned that lying on a police report was illegal, Miller said.
Anyone with information on the case, which is still being investigated, is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020.
Port Wentworth police arrest auto theft suspect
Port Wentworth police announced Monday a man suspected of auto theft has been arrested.
Port Wentworth Police Sgt. Steven Holmes said Brandon Hulett, 27, of Rincon was taken into custody Monday and booked in the Effingham County jail.
Port Wentworth police on Monday attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on Interstate 95. Instead of stopping, the driver, now identified as Hulett, accelerated, leading officers on a chase that ended in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart on Pooler Parkway, Holmes said. The driver of the vehicle ran inside the store where he took a T-shirt off a rack, changed clothes, and then walked out of the store, Holmes said.
It was discovered that the vehicle the suspect had been driving was recently stolen from an address in Rincon.
