Former Savannah-Chatham police officer Allan Clairmont pleaded guilty Tuesday to bigamy and was given four years probation in Chatham County Superior Court by Judge John E. Morse Jr.
He was also sentenced to 12 months probation on misdemeanor domestic violence battery and domestic violence simple assault.
The charge of false imprisonment was dismissed.
Clairmont, 44, was fired March 29 for conduct unbecoming an officer after being arrested two days prior in Port Wentworth, where he lived until the incident.
Clairmont was a Southside Precinct patrol sergeant. He’d been a violent crimes investigator for several years before being promoted to a sergeant’s rank in February.
