Savannah-Chatham police made an arrest in one of three July 30 shootings, and are still searching for a suspect in a second that left two teens dead and another injured.

Officers took 19-year-old Daquan Demeterius Williams of Rainbow Drive into custody after Williams and another male were observed behind Pal’s Mini Mart on ACL Boulevard and Louis Mills Drive, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.

Williams had been charged with the shooting of a 25-year-old man near East Oglethorpe Avenue and Wilder Street on July 30. The victim suffered injuries that were not considered life threatening.

Detectives are still searching for 21-year-old David Randy Daniels Jr., whom they’ve charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of 18-year-old Dominique Bright and 15-year-old Syheem Spaulding, as well as aggravated assault in the non-fatal shooting of a 15-year-old girl. These shootings took place at East 39th and Cedar streets about 20 minutes after the Oglethorpe shooting.

Police describe Daniels as a black male who is 5 feet 10 inches tall who weighs about 200 pounds. He is known to frequent Savannah’s eastside and police consider him armed and dangerous.

Police ask anyone with information on Daniels’ location to call 911 and not approach him.

Anyone with information on the shootings is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637). Tipsters remain anonymous. A confidential tip line that connects people directly to investigators is open at 912-525-3124.
