ATLANTA — The National Weather Service is expanding a flash flood watch that now covers most of Georgia.
The watch is scheduled to be in effect through Monday evening. It covers several of the state's largest cities, including Athens, Atlanta, Columbus, Dalton, Macon and Rome.
Rainfall ranging from 1 to 3 inches occurred across much of the state on Sunday, and forecasters say another 1 to 2 inches with higher amounts in some areas are possible Monday.
Officials also say that river flooding is a possibility through the middle of the week.
