Police are seeking information on the Friday night beating and robbery of a 71-year-old woman in downtown Savannah.
Two men approached the woman as she parked her car in her garage in the 100 block of East Jones Street about 10:30 p.m., physically assaulted her and stole the vehicle, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
The car was found abandoned in the 800 block of Waters Avenue without the woman’s purse and its contents, Miller said.
Detectives are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious near the 100 block of East Jones Street to contact them.
