Savannah-Chatham police have reopened all of Chatham Parkway after a head-on wreck sent two women to the hospital.
A black Nissan sedan traveling northbound on Chatham Parkway just beyond Police Memorial Drive crossed into the southbound lane and struck a red Suburu sedan just after 2 p.m., said Gena Bilbo, Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman.
Savannah Fire & Emergency Services personnel used the “Jaws of Life” to remove the driver of the Suburu from her vehicle. She was taken to Memorial University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, Bilbo said.
The driver of the Nissan was also taken to Memorial with serious injuries.
Bilbo said the Major Accident Investigation Team is continuing to work to determine exactly what happened.
