Attack is believed related to street gang activity, police say
BRUNSWICK, GA. – City police are looking for a woman suspected of leading a group of four that entered a Family Dollar Store on Norwich Street Aug. 14 and attacked a boy who was waiting in the checkout line.
The two women, a man and a juvenile male beat the juvenile at the cashier's counter and then fled the store, said Todd Rhodes, spokesman for the Brunswick Police Department.
The fight is believed to be related to incidents earlier in that day between rival street gangs, Rhodes said.
Investigator Richard Garrett secured warrants and arrested Amanda Johnson, 17, Quamii Haywood, 20, and the juvenile suspect, Rhodes said.
He contacted Shadon Latrice Jackson, 41, who is accused of leading the assault, by phone, and she agreed to surrender, Rhodes said.
When the officer traveled the prearranged location, Jackson was not there, could not be found subsequently and has made no attempts to reach Garrett, Rhodes said.
Jackson is believed to have left the area. Although it is not known if she is armed, she is still thought to be dangerous, he said.
She is charged with inciting to riot and a criminal street gang violation, Rhodes said.
She is described as a 5-foot, 2-inch tall African-American woman with gold teeth and who weights 291 pounds.
She has numerous tattoos including a number of stars on her upper chest and collarbone area and the number 305 on her back.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call Garrett at (912) 279-2606 or the Brunswick Police Department Silent Witness Line at (912) 267-5516. Information may also be sent by email to bpdtips@brunswickpolice.org.
