Three Savannah men face charges of armed robbery and kidnapping after police said they forced five college students into the back of a moving van at gunpoint and stole various items.
Savannah-Chatham police robbery detectives were able to identify and locate the three suspects in the robbery about 4 a.m. Thursday in the 2300 block of LaRoache Avenue.
Arrested were 21-year-old Antwon Dashawn Housey, of the 2200 block of North Fernwood Drive; 29-year-old Adam Brantley and 18-year-old Corey Baker, both of the 2100 block of East 43rd Street.
Savannah-Chatham police spokesman Julian Miller said the three assailants approached the five victims on foot, forced them to the ground at gunpoint and took several items from them. The suspects then made the resident of the home walk through the building with them as they took additional items.
The suspects then forced all five victims into the moving truck and locked it, Miller said. The victims were able to escape through the top of the truck and called police. Detectives quickly found the suspects.
Miller said no one was injured in the incident and most of the stolen items were recovered.
