The United Way of the Coastal Empire Wednesday announced its fundraising goal for 2013 during a record setting kick off at the Savannah Civic Center.
In front of the largest crowd the local United Way branch has ever drawn for a campaign kick off of 1,121 people, the organization announced it hopes to raise $8,675,000 this year.
The goal, said United Way of the Coastal Empire President and CEO Gregg Schroeder, represents the 75th year of the campaign to raise funds for those in need in coastal Georgia.
