One suspect remains at large after Savannah-Chatham police captured two additional suspects in an alleged west Savannah copper theft ring.

Police are still searching for 19-year-old Diqwane Dreshawn Butler, one of ten suspects charged in the Aug. 25 theft of about $6,000 of bar bright metal wiring from Southern Metals Recycling in the 2800 block of Tremont Road, after they apprehended 27-year-old Martique Nashawn King and 30-year-old Anthony Gene King in recent days, said Julian Miller, police spokesman.

The younger King, of the 3300 block of Ogeechee Road, was captured Tuesday morning after a footrace with officers through a wooded area off Staley Avenue and a tussle with K9 officer Flash. Anthony King, of an East 65th Street address, was arrested without incident Sunday morning at a West Montgomery Crossroad motel following a tip from CrimeStoppers, Miller said.

Seven suspects — Devon Washington, Antonio Easterling, Elliot Moore, Sherica Williams, Darrell McPherson, Ceairra Heyward, and Craig Reed — were previously arrested in the case and face conspiracy charges including criminal attempt at burglary, criminal damage to property in the 2nd degree, and possession of tools for the commission of a crime, Miller said.

Miller asked that anyone with information about Butler, of the 800 block of Tatem Street, to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637). Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
