Here is the latest information on Hurricane Sandy from the Chatham Emergency Management Agency:
A tropical storm warning continues for all marine interests of the coastal waters of southeast South Carolina and southeast Georgia.
It is not anticipated any watches or warnings for inland Chatham County, however; the coastal waters off Tybee Island could experience isolated tropical storm force wind gusts tonight into tomorrow.
Small craft should remain in port and well secured, closely monitor NOAA weather radios or other local news outlets for official storm information, and listen for possible changes to the forecast.
Precautionary/preparedness actions:
Those who live along the coast should move unsecured lightweight Items indoors to avoid being blown about by the wind. Gusty winds may result in occasional power outages through the weekend.
Minor saltwater flooding is possible at the times of high tide tonight through Saturday night. High surf and strong winds will produce dangerous rip currents and long shore currents that will be life-threatening to anyone who enters the water.
